From Drumul Taberei to Eroilor is ten minutes on metro M5, and from Militari about a quarter of an hour on M3. To the airport it is the longest ride in the city: 40–50 minutes.
Sector 6 is the west of Bucharest: Drumul Taberei, Militari, Crângași and Ghencea, plus the Politehnica campus at Regie and Lake Morii. It has large parks and the start of the A1 motorway to Pitești.
Metro M3 runs through Militari to Preciziei, and M5, opened in 2020, links Drumul Taberei to Eroilor in ten minutes. The airport is 40–50 minutes away, the longest ride in town, so this sector mostly suits people who live or work in the west.
The west has more new apartment blocks and short-term rentals than any other sector, especially in Militari and around Lake Morii. From a hotel in the north the trip crosses the whole city; for anyone working in the western office parks or staying near the motorway to Pitești, it is the handiest area. Parking is easier than in the centre.
